The Analytical & Segmental Strengthening of the Abdominal Muscles & the Thoracic Diaphragm counts is the first course of the SomaTraining Curriculum.
This Guy Voyer D.O. course focuses on strengthening the abdominals: the oblique’s, transverse, pyramidals, rectus abdominus & the thoracic diaphragm. These muscles need to be properly trained and developed due to their functional & aesthetic properties.
Students will learn many exercises & techniques that will specifically target these muscles including but not limited to:
· An introduction to SomaTraining for the abdominal muscles & the thoracic diaphragm
· Technical analysis of the movements which are the basis of muscle strengthening
· Learning to perfect the movement (progression factors)
· How to avoid injury with the appropriate preparation
· Types of cool-downs for better recovery
· Analyzing dietary factors
· Quality effort in terms of strength, volume, power, speed, resistance, endurance and fitness maintenance
· Planning training sessions
· Multiple strengthening methods
· Muscular re-education programs
· Sports preparation programs
